Recognizing Hunger Action Month with the Tucker studio team was definitely a favorite moment in 2023. Folks took a half day of volunteer hours and hit a local non-profit called “Open Hand Atlanta” to pack around 2k+ meals for neighbors in need.
Open Hand Atlanta delivers meals for Medicaid clients tailored for certain illnesses like high blood pressure, heart disease, cancer, HIV/AIDS, obesity, and other chronic conditions. They also provide nutritious meals for seniors and low-income kids. As one of the largest community-based providers of home-delivered meals in the US, they rely on volunteers to keep serving around 1.5 million meals annually. We were glad to play a small part in helping them help others. Check out the photos from the afternoon of meal-packing.
